Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Peritoneal Mesothelioma is an extremely rare condition of mesothelioma which accounts for only about 25% to 30% (anywhere from 150 to 500 cases each year in United States of America) of all mesothelioma cases.

Peritoneum are the linings that surrounds the stomach or abdomen.  Peritoneum cells produce a lubricating fluid that protects the stomach, that allows the stomach to move freely when, for instance, food is being digested.

so Mesothelioma Peritonea mesothelioma is the cancer in the lining that surrounds the stomach or abdomen.
